Hello.
Below  is an example, which is must be an N-Scale model.

Initially, there is an look on original model:

And now, there are remastered N-Scale Trix V200 with snow plow(spartium) and  knuckle coupler:

This is very simply to do! Isnt it?

There are national USSR styled M62,  like  Roco TT,  but in N-Scale:

Why trix and other makes so non realistic models with large Rapidos?
And Why cannot do so easy and realistic variants?

Moreover, MiniTrix  V200 has a very poor quality of motor!  which works some hours and,  then loose contact in collector or  makes inter lamelle shorts!

I ve changed it into Maxon.
See there how to made it in details:

(May be this info can be usefull forsomebody)

Why TRIX initially dont install Maxons?

Thanks,
Vadim

Hi Vadim,
the Rapido couplers are standard in N, that's why Trix used it. I'm not very happy about the look of Trix' V200, but it would be even worse if they installed non-standard couplers.

Maxon or Faulhaber motors are quite expensive. Maybe thats why they are used in so few models...

1) For example,  some KATO locos are issued with both types of couplers .  You can easy install any of them!
It's so easy and convenient for both Rapido- and Knuckle lovers!
And it would be easy way to come into real model world!

2) Why Brawa, Walters, and some other... cannot prepare their motor so purely ?
They havent Maxon, but my 2 Brawa BR-132 stilll works  without any problemms during more than 2 years intensive moovings? Why Trix E40, ICE-1 and V200 have troubled motors?

It looks very good, but kadee couplers and buffers means compromise: What's your space to the first car and what's the minimum radius that combination can negotiate? If you answer that, you can maybe answer your own question as well.

Greetings,
Harald.
Russia uses the same style of central couplers as in the US, so I understand your choice for the RZD variant. To reproduce our anachronistic Western European hook-and-screw coupling system (which requires buffers), neither Rapido nor Kadee couplers look very realistic. For that purpose (and if your curve radii can handle it), the Schiffer or magnetic couplers looks more prototypical (here a TT gauge example with V200; N is the same):

QUESTION:
What's your space to the first car and what's the minimum radius that combination can negotiate?

ANSWER:
1) My smallest radius with Knuckle (Not Kadee) couplrers is 30cm at tunnels and 45 cm at opened for watching spaces. All works OK! And i have comfortable small space between passenger cars.
See pics:

2) Moreover,  You can simply install Knuckle couplers removing rapidos from close couplres and inserting at the same place knuckle arms. It's compartible!
In this case You can achieve radiuses which was smaller than 30 cm.
