Which train has uncracked metallic GEAR instead cracked plastic?
I ll return to gear problem of TRIX ICE-3 trains:
Now we have 2 ICE-3 trains from TRIX:

Old train - 12793 (3 cars) starts at 2005 up to 2009
New train - 12197 (8 cars) Neuheiten 2009
As i believe New train will have corrected metallic gear which one can see at bottom trucks slits of motor car?

I think, i have no responds, because this problem, probably too confusing(((
Hi Vadim,
nobody knows, because 12197 has not been delivered upto now. Concerning 12193 you have to check each train set box if there is the crappy plastic gear version inside or not. You can see it by looking at the slits of the motor car bogies. Here in Hamburg train sets with plastic gear are still in stock at several dealers. I would not take the risk buying a plastic gear ICE and hoping for an exchange in case of teeth problems as long as the situation with Trix remains uncertain.

What's the problem to ask the shop if they are equipped with metal gear? You can make the remark to buy only with metal gear.
