Hello !
Which is MOST CHEAPEST DCC TURNOUT DECODER?
As i see, all brand-name DCC turnout decoders has about $8 per turnout. (Lenz, Digitrax...etc)
May be, Are there more cheaper decoders awailable?
May be, are there a 32 or 64 channel boards in one box which will cheaper?
I have about 30 turnouts per module, and wish to have all these channels in one board.
It must be more cost and space effective!
What do You know about it?
--------
Thanks,
Vadim

Hello Vadim,
if you have some experience in electronics and if you are able to solder a decoder kit, self-assembly would be a possibility to safe money.
http://www.ldt-infocenter.com/
The price is around €5,50 per turnout. Anyhow, if you want to safe much space, this might not be an option. Unfortunately I dont know any decoders with 32 or more channels.

Thanks, Tomas.
I know Tower 64, but it works only via LocoNet.

Hi Vadim,
i do not know about Decoders with 64 channels. But do you know this one:
http://www.digital-bahn.de/bau_s88n/weich88-n.htm
?
4 turnouts incl. S-88N feedback, aprox maybe 4-5€ per turnout, but you have to built it by your self. You can order the board and the PIC at Digitalbahn.de. All other things you have to order at a electronics store. (It is possible to install this decoder on a "Install - Track" in line)
or
http://www.digital-bahn.de/bau_weiche/wz_weiche.htm (~3-4€ per Turnout?)
for 2 turnouts excl. feedback.
Regards...Pierre
PS: I do not know about ordering and shipping possibilities to russia...

Thanks to all!
As i see, All decoders and decoder kits has approximately the same value of $ per Turnout. ($6-$8)
Only fully home made decoders can significantly store money, but it requires a lot of free time to develop, solder & debug it.
I work alone at my layout, and haven't so much free time. A lot of time i spent for making modular layout construction and track laying. Therefore i cannot spend another lot of time to make all my decoders.
Yes, i already made some decoders and have some experience . For example i made -32 channel s88 current detector with 150dB difference between channels 20KOm sensitivity and voltage fallout - 0.4V.
You can see it at opened state, there at Photos:

It works well, but i solder & debug it about ONE MONTH!
