N-Scale shunting work with Russian locos (mp4)

Hello.
Recently, i ve finished work of converting Russian VL80 from stationary model, using KATO p42 chassis.

Also I installed knuckle loco uncouplers and sound.

Now, You can see small videoklip, where changing loco and backuping train for servicing are showed.

Hi Vadim...
...great work ! absolutely awesome !
Nice video too. Now you finished this project what will be the next challenge ?
(I guess those coaches are from PIKO - also modified.)

N-regards jens
Hi Vadim

Absolutely great !!!!  Can you tell us how you made the VL 80 from the Del Prado locomotive? I also will do this!!

Very nice video.

Greetings

Kurt
Hello Vadim,

great Loco and a nice layout.

Greetings,
                    Sascha.
Hallo Vadim,

please more videos !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great !!!

Greetings,
Dirk
Hello,  Jens.
Yes, I have old PIKO Amendorfs at this video.
They have full current pickup via metallic needle bearings, and decoders with powerpacks and LED current stabilizers.

Hello Kurt.

I made some pictures when i digitized it:

http://fotki.yandex.ru/users/vadimav/album/166975/

I take my not-used long 2 x KATO p42, locos  which is difficult to use at european layouts, because they are  too long.
I got  chasis from it  and shortened chasis cutting  extra cardan spaces from load,  Resulting  parts of loads i screwed by using clock microscrews.

You can act more simply, You can buy chasis from KATO F3A,  or from old Roco Rh111.
It must fit exactly .

Vadim.
Hello Vadim,

You are a really great N-Scale modellist an expert!
Absolutely nice video, it reminds me to Mitchurinsk Uralsky station, where lokos are changed from electric to diesel traction, when several times a year I´m on my way from Moscow Pavelezky station to Tambov 1 station or to Saratov (ЮВЖД). Just the same loko signals I´m listening there!
Wishing all the best for Новый Год and the forthcoming holidays in Russia!
With regards
Berthold
Thanks, Berthold!
Let us make our modell, as well as real world better!

With best New Year wishes,
Vadim.
Are there anybody among german N-Scale  people, who make shunting work too?

--------
Vadim
Hey Vadim!

first of all: AMAZING!!!

Concerning your question: I would recommend Manni, who has some expertise in shunting as well, have a look at the videos in the first posting there:
http://www.1zu160.net/scripte/forum/forum_show.php?id=565552

another thing: at the beginning of the video one can see two trains which seem to be self-made or at least kit-bashed: German Talent2 on track one (right-hand side) German 425(?) at the left-hand side...both containing a lot more cars than in standard version :) do you plan any interesting transformations as well? :)

All the best for the new year!
Regards,
Sascha

Thanks, Sasha!

But i don't finding out any uncoupling at Manni YourTube channell. Only coupling.

As to long electric train concerns, Yes, i made 5X KATO ET425 using strong conversion.
As well as i made PIKO talent-2, also after strong modification.

I allready told about it at this forum:

How to modify & Stereo Sounding ET425:

How to modify & Stereo Sounding  PIKO Talent2:

Both these train have approximate similarity as new russian electric trains.
I thought about Flirt, but it has too strange look, when  keeping in mind russian theme.

Vadim

Also i made MiniTrix ICE-1 with stereosound, and coupling with vertical degree of freedom, which removed general headache of this modell!

Vadim
Hi Vadim,

great work!

How did you do the automatic coupler? From the pictures it looks as if you used a relais coil, isn't it?

Today I'm doing mainly US model railroading. The shunting is done manually or with magnets (micro-trains magnematic). So nothing very special.

I would like to adopt your mechanism into a switcher...

Hello BR Lavamat.
Yes, my uncoupler idea is very simply..

I allready told about it earlier here:
http://www.1zu160.net/scripte/forum/forum_show.php?id=665166

QUESTION:
Did You use electromagnetic undertable uncoupling devices?

----------
Vadim
In addition to StereoSounding, there is the link for ICE1 train:

Happy New Year!
Vadim.
Hello!
Are there any another strategy or devices for automatical shunting work?

Are there anybody who use it?
---------
Vadim
Hi Vadim !

Perfect working the lokomotion is great and the video too.

Great job, i like it.

Greetings Thomas
Thanks, Thomas!
