Hello, first of all, I don't speak english. Excuse me for it.
I have bought 8 DCX74 decoder from CT Electronik. I have a problem with it. The motor stops suddenly and starts again. The 8 decoders have the same problem. I have read CV7 to get the firmware version, and I get an 16 (v1.6). I have installed many other decoder from CT and another brands in my locos without problems.
sent a email to CT, but I don't hope they answer soon, because I sent another 8 decoders to replace 3 MONTHS ago and I have not received yet, neither I get response by email from them.
Can anyone tell me if they are a problem with this version? What are the differences between 1.4 and 1.6 firmare versions????

Switch a 1nF ceramic capacitor parallel to the engine, it will better go.

Al works OK! I soldered capacitor paralell to engine, the same witch I took apart to digitalize the loco. The motor works very well now.

We had here the same problem. Mr. Tran said to us that some (older) engines cause voltage peaks, which the Dekoder confuses. The ceramic capacitor intercepts these peaks.

I had the same problem with older motors. I contacted Mr. Tran from CT-Electronic and so we got the info with this Ceramic Condensator. But it doesnot work all the time. I got new Decoders with Version 17 and there is this problem not anymore. So if you contact Mr. Tran perhaps he can update this decoders for you.#

Meinst Du damit, dass es nicht bei jedem Motor funktioniert oder werden die Decoder trotz Kondensator ab und zu rückfällig?

Wir hatten schon die Erfahrung gemacht, dass manchmal die Lösung mit dem Kondensator nicht funktioniert (vor allem billigere und langsame Kond.). Mit schnellen Kond. von guter Qualität normalerweise keine Probleme.
Da jedoch Tran kostenlose Updates anbietet, würde ich diese Lösung als Update auf 17 vorziehen.
